3 year old Rhythm &
Movement
A class in movement exploration with age appropriate goals
centered around developing body awareness, rhythm skills,
sequencing, social interaction, self confidence, coordination
and listening skills, and having fun. Meets for 45 minutes
once a week.
4 year old Rhythm &
Movement
The skills developed are similar to 3 year old R & M with more
sophistication and complexity along with simple ballet skills.
Meets 45 Minutes once a week.
5 or 6 year old
Introduction to Ballet and Tap Combination
There is a different class for each age covering basic ballet
and tap. Meets once a week for one hour.
Ballet
Ballet classes are grouped according to age and skill level.
The underlying technique used at Little School of Dance is based
on Cecchetti Method, other theories such as Balanchine Technique
and Vaganova Method are drawn from to produce a well-rounded
dancer able to adapt to the different styles and teachers they
may encounter. Ballet classes begin with meeting one hour
per week, as the student advances more hours of classes are
required to reach proficiency levels.
Pointe
This class focuses on proper technique and strength building for
pointe dancing. This class meets one hour per week.
Tap
Tap skills will be taught and divided up into skill and age
levels. Classes meet once per week.
Jazz - Hip Hop -
Lyrical Combo
Dancers in Jazz classes according to age and skill level. This class combines a variety of styles including hip-hop, contemporary, lyrical, and classic Jazz technique. Jazz classes meet once per week.
Modern-Contempory
Based on Lester Horton technique, modern dance is explored, along with other contemporary dance forms. Classes meet once per week.
Boys Movement
Emphasis is on coordination, body awareness, musicality, and the development of basic Jazz dance technique. Classes meet once per week.
